Commissioning Engineer
UK-wide travel required | Head Office: Leicester

Join the team at Impact Air Systems, a leading UK provider of pneumatic extraction, dust control, and material separation solutions.
Your role:
As a Commissioning Engineer, your job is to bring our systems to life. You’ll be responsible for commissioning newly installed equipment, resolving issues, training operators, and handing over fully operational systems to satisfied customers.
This role involves travel to customer sites across the UK (and occasionally abroad), with some overnight stays and weekend work as required.
Key Responsibilities
- Plan and prepare commissioning activities in coordination with the Project Manager (PM) and Technical Sales Manager (TSM)
- Commission mechanical and electrical systems and complete detailed reports and checklists
- Identify, diagnose, and resolve system faults (mechanical and electrical)
- Carry out any necessary remedial work on-site
- Provide operator training to ensure safe and effective system use
- Promote system maintenance best practices and introduce the Impact Technical Services (service and maintenance) team
- Final system handover to the customer, ensuring full operational understanding
- Ensure all required signage, decals, and site housekeeping are in place
- Provide quality feedback to the PM and TSM, including snagging lists and installation reviews
- Take photographs for project documentation and marketing purposes
- Stay in touch with the customer post-handover to ensure satisfaction and resolve any follow-up issues
What You’ll Need
Essential Skills & Experience
- Basic mechanical and electrical knowledge (fitting, wiring, troubleshooting)
- Experience in system commissioning and fault finding
- Understanding of site health & safety practices
- Ability to read and interpret basic electrical diagrams
- Confident working on low-voltage systems, including isolations
- Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook)
- Strong communication skills – verbal, written, and telephone
- Able to work independently and within a team
- Organised, reliable, and able to meet deadlines
- Customer-focused with strong interpersonal skills
- Willingness to travel throughout the UK and stay overnight as required
- Flexible regarding working hours (including some weekends)
Desirable:
- PLC experience (a plus, but not essential)
- Product knowledge of pneumatic systems and components (training provided)
- Comfortable working solo on international projects

LEV Project Manager
Based in Leicester | Travel Across the UK

You’ll play a key role in delivering high-quality projects across a range of industries, while working with a friendly, driven, and supportive team.

Key Responsibilities
As an LEV Project Manager, you will be responsible for the end-to-end delivery of LEV projects, including:
- Conducting detailed site surveys across the UK
- Managing the production of relevant CAD drawings
- Communicating with clients throughout the project lifecycle
- Sourcing and ordering parts for each project
- Liaising with suppliers to meet requirements, control costs, and ensure performance
- Monitoring project costs to maximise gross profit
- Coordinating installation teams and managing on-site performance
- Organising timely deliveries
- Ensuring contracts are completed on schedule and to specification
- Addressing any issues that arise during the project
- Completing financial summaries at project close
What We’re Looking For
The ideal candidate will bring both technical expertise and strong project management capabilities. You must be:
- Experienced in LEV design with strong knowledge of COSHH regulations
- Competent in CAD software for technical design and layout
- Familiar with HSG258 – Controlling Airborne Contaminants at Work
- A holder of BOHS P602 or equivalent qualification in LEV design (required)
- Willing to undertake further BOHS training and development
- Passionate about workplace health and the reduction of hazardous exposure
- Strong in communication — both written and verbal — with clients, suppliers, and colleagues
- Highly organised with an ability to prioritise tasks and meet deadlines
- Problem-solving, proactive, and confident in decision-making
- Financially aware and capable of managing project budgets
- Safety-conscious and able to prepare risk assessments and method statements

Project Manager – Engineering Solutions

About the Role
As a Project Manager, you’ll be key in transforming customer orders into fully installed, working systems – typically over a 10–12 week project cycle. You’ll be involved at every stage, ensuring delivery on time, on budget, and to the high standards our clients expect.
Key Responsibilities
You’ll manage projects from initial planning through to final handover, including:
- Conducting site surveys
- Producing general arrangement and fabrication drawings
- Specifying and ordering parts and equipment
- Coordinating with suppliers on cost, lead times, and performance
- Tracking and managing project costs to maximise gross profit
- Organising and overseeing installation teams
- Ensuring compliance with health and safety standards
- Managing deliveries and site logistics
- Arranging commissioning and handover
- Maintaining clear and continuous communication with customers and suppliers throughout
What We’re Looking For
We need someone with the right mix of technical expertise and project management know-how. Ideal candidates will have:
Essential:
- HNC or higher in Mechanical Engineering (or similar)
- Minimum 2 years’ experience with AutoCAD
- Strong understanding of mechanical/steelwork fabrication
- Excellent communication skills – written, verbal, and phone
- Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines
- High standards of organisation, attention to detail, and time management
- Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office tools
- Knowledge of air system components (fans, filters, ducting, etc.)
Desirable:
- Background in air system design
- Experience writing RAMS (Risk Assessments and Method Statements)
