Offset Print & Packaging Upgrade Trim Extraction with Impact Air Systems

Carton board trim removal from Bobst and K&B Iberica

Offset Print & Packaging, based in Aylesford, UK, has enhanced its production efficiency and sustainability with a brand-new trim extraction system designed and installed by Impact Air Systems. The upgrade replaces an outdated and unreliable system, boosting performance across multiple production lines.

The new solution connects to two Bobst machines and a K&B Iberica, efficiently extracting trim waste and conveying it to external compactors via a high-performance ductwork system, chopper fan, and material separator. A diverter chute ensures continuous operation by alternating compactor use.

Smart design features include fan-assisted waste trucks on castors for easy access and a 300mm duct to handle wide sheet trim, ensuring reliable and maintenance-friendly performance.

Vince Brearey, Managing Director, praised the installation:

“We’re very pleased with everything—from design to performance. Downtime is down, compactor fills are maximised, and we’ve reduced collections, meaning fewer lorries on the road and more material recycled.”

A great example of innovation supporting productivity and sustainability.
