Scrap Handling: A Critical Production Challenge

In corrugated board and packaging operations, scrap creates ongoing operational pressure. Trim waste, edge offcuts, and die-cut scrap appear at every production stage. As a result, unmanaged waste restricts throughput and increases downtime. Moreover, poor scrap control introduces avoidable safety risks and undermines housekeeping standards.

For this reason, manufacturers need scrap handling systems that operate reliably at production speed. Impact designs engineered solutions that make waste removal a controlled and predictable part of the production process.

High-Speed Trim Extraction at Source

Impact systems deliver high-speed edge trim extraction from corrugators and converters. Even at peak line speeds, they maintain consistent performance. In addition, purpose-designed collection hoods capture scrap directly at discharge belts, transfer points, and chutes.

By doing so, the system prevents material build-up and keeps production moving. Consequently, operators reduce manual intervention and avoid unplanned stoppages.

Efficient Waste Removal in Converting and Die-Cutting

In converting and die-cutting areas, scrap volumes increase rapidly. Therefore, Impact provides dedicated waste removal solutions for these processes. Die station waste trucks and gripper edge extraction systems remove scrap cleanly and continuously.

As a result, machines operate more efficiently and experience fewer jams. Meanwhile, operators spend less time clearing waste and more time supporting output.

Improved Housekeeping and Safer Work Areas

Manually stripped waste often creates clutter around machines. To address this, Impact floor sweep-up systems reduce manual handling and keep production areas clear. At the same time, cleaner walkways improve safety and support stronger housekeeping standards.

Where operations require volume reduction, Impact sheet shredders and general waste shredding systems prepare scrap for baling. In turn, this increases baler efficiency and reduces transport and disposal costs.

Incorporated, Engineered Scrap Handling Systems

Impact engineers each solution as a fully integrated system. Specifically, vacuum transfer ductwork conveys waste reliably throughout the facility. In parallel, high-efficiency filtration improves air quality and supports a safer working environment.

Because of this integrated approach, systems deliver long-term reliability and compliance with modern health, safety, and environmental requirements.

Measurable Operational Benefits

With a properly engineered scrap handling system in place, manufacturers achieve measurable improvements. These include higher line efficiency, reduced downtime, and safer housekeeping. Ultimately, Impact systems support corrugators, die-cutters, and box-making operations that demand sustained high output.
